Barbara is an innovative leader who is focused on elevating the value of data as an asset across healthcare, high tech and analytics industries. She provides expertise in the area of Data Management, Master Data Management, Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Science, Architecture and Big Data Governance. Her passion for—and extensive experience in—data has helped companies advance their use of data as a strategic asset with the objective of turning raw data into actionable knowledge. Barbara strives to cultivate collaboration between business and IT within and across organizations.
Barbara has been recognized as a thought leader and practitioner and with leading transformations with data. She is the recipient of MIT’s prestigious isCDO award, ComputerWorld’s Premier 100 Technology Leaders and Computer World’s Honors for Healthcare Data Quality. She holds two patents in data valuation approaches and leverages a framework for “actionable data governance” based on business value drivers with measurable results.
In her current role at Edwards Lifesciences, she leads the Enterprise Data Office, which partners with the business to leverage high-quality data for patient outcomes and pathways. Previously Barbara was the Vice President of Data Management & Analytics at CoreLogic, Chief Data Governance Officer at Dell/EMC, Chief Data Governance Officer at Smith & Nephew Healthcare, and Chief Data Governance Officer at Philips Healthcare.
