Ramnik Bajaj, Enterprise CDAO, USAA
As the enterprise CDAO, Ramnik is responsible for driving the vision, strategy, policy, roadmap and delivery of data and analytics architecture, governance and solutions to advance data driven culture and discipline at USAA.
Ramnik was previously Executive Vice President and Chief Data Officer at Wells Fargo & Company. In that role, he was accountable for establishing the data management policy and strategy and implementing transformational data programs for the company. Ramnik also oversaw enterprise analytics and data science focused on developing advanced analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities.
Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Ramnik was a Partner at Deloitte Consulting LLP and led the banking data practice. Over his 21 years with Deloitte, Ramnik worked with many US and global financial services companies to solve technology, operations and strategy challenges in data management, risk, finance, regulatory compliance, management reporting and product design. He architected, designed and implemented large-scale banking platforms, integrated risk and finance solutions, performance management and business intelligence solutions, and implemented data warehouses and data management platforms to support operational and reporting needs of financial institutions.
Ramnik has Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and a Master’s degree in Management Science from Stanford University, CA. He lives in San Francisco, CA with his wife Monika and their son Neil. His other interests include philosophy and physics, and he’s the co-author of an undergraduate textbook at the intersection of those fields in the philosophy of science.
