Steve Wanamaker, CEO & Founder, LEAD Tribune Media Group
Bio: Steve Wanamaker is the Founder and CEO of Lead Tribune Media Group. As a lifelong entrepreneur, Steve and his wife Kim founded Inspire Magazine, which they then sold to Gannett in 2004 when they were both 34 years old. As a Fortune 500 Company, Gannett is a leading global media organization that owns media properties such as USA Today and regional media properties such as The Cincinnati Enquirer.
In 2020, Lead Tribune Media Group launched CDO Magazine in partnership with MIT Chief Data Officer Information Quality Symposium (MIT CDOIQ). CDO Magazine delivers C-Suite worthy format and content quality giving a voice to global leaders in strategic data management and analytics. Lead Tribune Media Group is a full-service media company consisting of a custom publishing business producing publications for many local and national organizations and an event management group. The company is anchored by three print publications: Venue Magazine, Lead Magazine, and Comspark Magazine, as well as three online digital publications, CDOmagazine.tech, venuecincinnati.com and comspark.tech. The event business hosts over 14 events per year, with over 6,000 guests annually in the five cities in which we operate: Louisville, Cincinnati, Columbus, Dayton, Indianapolis and Boston. The company’s growth has been fueled by our ComSpark technology brand and our association with the MIT CDOIQ.
Steve is a graduate of the Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati, where he was a member of the Army ROTC program. Upon graduation he received his commission as an officer in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of captain. His current board involvements include the West Chester Hospital President’s Advisory Board, the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, the FC Cincinnati Foundation (America’s newest major league soccer team), UC Health Foundation and JDRF (Southwest Ohio Chapter). Lastly, he is also the recipient of the 2019 West Chester – Liberty Chamber Alliance Carlos Todd Award for Businessperson of the Year, which is the organization’s most prestigious award given to recognize leadership and community impact. The Wanamakers’ reside in West Chester, have been happily married for almost 21 years and have three children.
